Organizers of open excursions in Uzhgorod decided to engage state officials in cognitive walks around the city – they have already invited the mayor and the governor.
The project’s target audience are Uzhgorod residents; open excursions are designed to introduce the city to its people, and it also determines the content of cognitive excursions. "One of the slogans of the project is "Uzhgorod for Uzhgorod residents."
We decided that the city officials also need to get to know Uzhgorod better – we suspect that not everyone is familiar with the historical vicissitudes of the city and its cultural and architectural identity" – said one of the project organizers, a journalist Alla Hayatova. "Learning something new and being interested in history and architecture of your native city should be one of the needs of individuals with an active lifestyle. And, actually, the officials must be exactly that kind of person so we expect that the government will not ignore this opportunity, let’s say, "to become on friendly terms with Uzhgorod."
In addition to the regional authorities they invite, of course, Uzhgorod authorities too – members of the city council, members of the executive committee, deputy mayor and, in fact, everyone.
The Mayor Victor Pogorelov was one of the first to receive invitation – it was already on Wednesday, immediately after the meeting of the executive committee. By the way, some of the members of the executive committee expressed the intention to come on the excursion with children, and members of the City Council are also interested.
By the way, during the first tour, conducted by Vladislav Tovtyn, they spoke about the facts that are little known even to those who are closely interested in the history and architecture of the city, as the historian studied rare Czech sources. This Sunday it will be no less interesting.
"I am sure that the tour will be of interest even to those who in view of their position must know about Uzhgorod more than others. It is possible that participants will also add something interesting during the tour," – says the project proponent Tatiana Lemak.
Time and place of gathering are the same – Sunday (this week it is November 25), at 14.00 on Teatralna Square near Mikolajczyk.
