Students of the tourism department of UzhNU presented postage stamps dedicated to tourism in Transcarpathia. They presented the stamps in Uzhgorod Press Club.
As the student Maxim Dundar explained, at the Department of Tourism students of every year receive the assignment to create a tourism product. First year students created the stamps through Ukrposhta service that prints special stamps on request.
Maxim’s classmate, Anita Derdyay added that the stamps were created to promote tourism in Transcarpathia. Therefore, they depict various cultural and entertainment events: festival Beaujolais, Nightride, coffee route, Parade of brides and so on. All stamps are valid throughout the territory of Ukraine and it is planned that, travelling on the letters, they will promote interesting events in Transcarpathian region.
However, now it is almost impossible to buy these stamps. Ukrposhta released a total of 10-20 stamps with each image. According to the students, at the moment it is rather a demonstration of the stamp’s possibilities to tourism entrepreneurs who might appreciate such a marketing ploy and will produce similar stamps of their own.
