Next week in Uzhgorod a monument by the sculptor Mykhailo Kolodko to internationally renowned artist Ignatsiy Roshkovych will be solemnly presented. The exact copy of the monument is also to be installed on the embankment in Budapest next to the Parliament of Hungary.
The monument will be installed tomorrow and officially opened next week – reported Tourinfocenter of Transcarpathia.
The sculpture will be installed on Teatralna square by the Uzh river, since the former name of Nezalezhnist embankment was Roshkovych embankment.
Ignatsiy Roshkovych painted murals of numerous temples in Europe, including the St. Istvan Basilica in Budapest, as well as the Church of the Transfiguration in Uzhgorod and in the village of Kalyny in Tyachiv district.
By the way, the descendants of the Roshkovychs family live in Uzhgorod.
