The new Parliament will have more women, but only 10%

In the new Parliament there will be 45 women. This is 9 women more than in the current Parliament.

In particular, 29 women have passed to the Parliament by party lists: from the Party of Regions – 8, from "Batkivshchyna" – also 8, from UDAR – 7 and from the Communist Party – 6. 

16 women gained victory in majoritarian constituencies: 7 candidates from the Party of Regions, 5 – from "Batkivshchyna", 2 – from "Svoboda" and 2 – self-nominated.

On average in the world, women hold 19.2% of seats in parliaments. Women are heads of state and government in less than 10% of the world countries.
