Transcarpathian temporary accommodation center was visited by distinguished guests

 The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic in Ukraine Ivan Pochuh is visiting Transcarpathia. Yesterday, October 31, he, together with the UNHCR Regional Representative in Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine Oldrih Andrysek and the Chief of the State Migration Service of Ukraine in the Transcarpathian region Igor Mykhaylyshyn visited the temporary accommodation center, located in Mukachevo.

   Honored guests got acquainted with the work of the center, talked to its residents. Currently 47 migrants, including 23 children, of which 3 are unaccompanied, are living here. Most of them came from Somalia and Afghanistan. During the visit, the issues of integration of these people into Ukrainian society, as well as adaptation of persons who are in the process of determining this status were discussed. Since the beginning of the year 106 foreigners have applied to departments of the regional migration service for the their recognition as refugees or persons who needs complementary protection. It was noted that the cornerstone for self-sufficiency of these people is the legal employment. 

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Ukraine Ivan Pochuh and the UNHCR Regional Representative in Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine Oldrih Andrysek were familiarized with the best practices that already exist in Transcarpathia in this regard, especially the cooperation between the Department of State Migration Service of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region, the regional employment center, the implementing partner of UNHCR NEEKA and "Flekstroniks-Mukachevo" company – informed Olga Poshtak, Chief Public Relations Specialist of the State Migration Service of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region.
