Uzhgorod honoured the memory of the dead

Nowhere else in Ukraine there is such a tradition – to visit the graves of loved ones on the 1st of November. Though, in Transcarpathia a few days before that date people clean up the graves, decorate the gravestones with flowers and candles.

Old cemetery in the center of Uzhgorod – Calvary, dressed in fallen leaves, becomes a place of pilgrimage for citizens: they take care of the graves of their loved ones and lit lights in their memory.
