In Ukraine, prices for license plates will rise more than three times

Price for one license plate will be 135 UAH. Thus, ordinary motorist will have to pay 270 UAH for a set of license plates, although in July, the Head of the Registration and Examination Department of the Traffic Police Directorate, Demyanko Oleksandr promised that next year the price of the license plates would be 80 UAH.
Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine on September 28 signed a contract with the State scientific and production association "Fort" of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Vinnytsia to purchase 313,380 license plates totaling 38.994,750 UAH, reported the "Journal of Public Procurement".
Under the terms of purchase the price per license plate for a private car, vehicles for commercial transportation of passengers, Ministry of Internal Affairs and diplomatic vehicles was 135 UAH. The price for a license plate for trailers was 67.5 UAH, for motorcycles – 52,2 UAH, for scooter – 18.6 UAH (all prices – for one license plate, including VAT).
 
The tender was held according to the procedure of procurement from one person. As explained in the rationale of such a procedure, it was applied because "Fort" has patent for the design of "License plate for vehicles."
