On October 1 the 0.93 lowering calendar indexation coefficient for fares for passenger trains will come into effect, which will reduce the cost of travel in passenger trains.
According to the State Administration of Railway Transport of Ukraine ("UZ"), the coefficient will apply to tickets for all categories of cars (sleeping cars, coupe, reserved-seat, general, and first, second and third classes of high-speed trains), except for commuter trains.
Also the fare for Intercity+ interregional speed trains will be reduced.
The fare for the first class in Kyiv-Kharkiv train will be 316.06 UAH (until October 1 – 334.53 UAH), Kyiv – Lviv – 354.96 UAH (until October 1 – 375.76 UAH), Kyiv – Donetsk – 421 , 79 UAH (until October 1 – 446.62 UAH).
In September 1.02 coefficient was applied.
Note. By the Decree № 170 of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine 13 different calendar periods affecting fares are identified. The cost of the ticket and reserved seat is adjusted for coefficients by calendar periods and days of the week. Thus, on Thursday and Saturday, the fares decrease by 10% from the baseline value, and on Friday and Sunday – increase by 10%. When buying a two-way ticket for Intercity + electric train a 10% discount is applied.
