The situation with modular boilers in Uzhgorod is disastrous

This was said today, September 26, during the extraordinary meeting of the Executive Committee of Uzhgorod City Council by the deputy mayor of Uzhgorod Volodymyr Flenko.

First the official said that 99% of boilers in Uzhgorod schools and kindergartens are ready for the heating season, but then it was discovered that boiler module in ANVK school is not ready at all, the linguistic gymnasium will probably also be without heating. The implementation of many other projects was also failed, particularly in secondary school number 16 they did not manage to replace the roof completely, and because of that the school was flooded in the last rainy days.

Volodymyr Flenko put the blame for all troubles on the Capital Construction Department, whose head Igor Truskavetskiy recently was detained by law enforcement authorities for embezzlement of budget funds in large amounts. It is the CCD, according to Flenko, that was the administrator of the funds for all works, but the department have not taken care of either the preparation of technical documentation, or tenders. 

  
Heads of Uzhgorod schools and kindergartens alternately spoke and told the members of the executive committee of their concerns. It turned out that recently repaired "Slovak" school number 4 has leaking roofs, and last winter the children were sitting in cold classrooms because of the old boilers. In secondary school № 12 the repair of sewage systems started, but has not been completed, repairs of facades in school № 7 and linguistic school, which is already unraveling, have not yet started.  

The committee member Margaryta Moshchak noted that one cannot blame a particular person in a situation, because city officials had to know about this threatening situation. Instead, Deputy Mayor Yury Belyakov said that he considers unsatisfactory work of CCD to be a deliberate delay.
