For the Orthodox of Serednye Vodayane village in Transcarpathia, bilingualism is not an obstacle (photo)

The villagers of Serednye Vodyane in Rakhiv dustrict are lucky: hardworking and hospitable inhabitants of the most beautiful village in Transcarpathia are guarded by the Apostles Peter and Paul in Greek-Catholic church, and by the Virgin Mary in the Orthodox church. These saints are the patrons of all believers: those who go to church, and those who got lost on the way to the truth, having listened to sermons of foreign preachers.

All churches and monasteries dedicated to the Virgin Mary enjoy great respect among believers because she was chosen and honored by God to become the dearest mother on Earth.

By tradition, the Orthodox Church of Velyke Vodyane, built in honor of the Virgin Mary, is attended by a large number of parishioners from Romanian and Ukrainian villages of Tyachiv and Rakhiv districts. The very service is conducted in two languages: Romanian and Ukrainian.

Pastor, Father Georgiy Alb with faithfuls put a lot of effort in order to adequately meet the guests and treat them, both with the word of God and the bread and salt by Romanian tradition and in solidarity with all Christendom.

All shades of bright holiday – in photos.
