Illegal migrants from the Caucasus had to be stopped by shooting

As previously reported by uzhgorod.in, yesterday border guards of "Uzhgorod" division stopped two attempts to illegally cross the border outside border crossing points.

In both cases, the movement was detected by signaling devices. But, whereas in the first case, a citizen of Somalia who tried to get to Slovakia, did not try to resist and obediently fulfilled all the requirements of guards, to four representatives of the Caucasus region more severe measures had to be taken.

 During detention border guards had to make a warning shot, and even after that offenders continued to resist arrest and threatened border guards with physical harm.

As a result of the detention, four men without IDs who identified themselves as the citizens of Georgia have been delivered to the station to clarify the circumstances of the offense and make administrative and procedural documents. They will be prosecuted for resistance to border guards, absence of identification documents, and for trying to illegally cross the state border of Ukraine: the verdict on punishment and their fate will be determined by the court – informs the press service of the Chop border guard service.
