A month ago, Transcarpathian capital city mayor’s office decided to fight automobiles occupying pedestrian area of the city with… trees.
According to Mayor Victor Pogorelov, arborvitae planted in pots are supposed to restrict access and parking near the pedestrian bridge.
However, as we see in the photo, they have no effect on the driving culture, but rather only created more difficulties for the citizens – now pedestrians need to literally push in between cars and thujas.
