August 21, officers of the Security Service of Ukraine detained two individuals suspected of involvement into construction and operation of underground tunnel through Ukrainian-Slovakian border in Transcarpathia.
During the investigation it was established that two local residents, born in 1967 and 1975, were involved in this illegal activity and were hiding from the investigation. Based on the collected data they were wanted as defendants according to Part 2 of Article 28 (the crime committed by a group of persons by prior agreement), part 1 of Article 204 (illegal manufacture, storage, sale or transport for sale of excisable goods), Part 2 of Article 305 (smuggling of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, their analogues and precursors) and Part 2 of Article 332 (Illegal transfer of persons across the state border) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
On Tuesday, August 21, the wanted persons were arrested in Evpatoria (Crimea) in the rented house.
Currently, offenders are in custody. The investigation continues, – informs press-center of Security Service of Ukraine.
