Since yesterday the law "On Amendments to Article 22.1 of the Law of Ukraine "On Railway Transport " came into force, which increases the liability of carriers engaged into international passengers’ transportation. Following the publication of its text in the newspaper "Holos Ukrainy" the became enforceable, reports UNIAN .
Under the new rules, the carrier must check the passenger’s document that identifies the person, and in case of refusal to provide such a document, may refuse to provide transportation services to the passenger.
In the event of breach of this amendment, the carrier is liable, because these actions "led to transportation or attempts to transport passengers without the required documents across the state border of Ukraine", – says the law.
