Unauthorized retail trade directly from the sidewalks of the regional center is everyday and already a traditional landscape for each inhabitant of Uzhgorod. Despite the frequent promises of municipal authorities to solve this problem, shopkeepers from the surrounding villages and neighbor areas that are largely sell in markets on the adjacent streets did not disappear and do not suffer from special ‘oppression’ from the municipal police side. Some even feel sorry for hard workers, because they honestly earn on a piece of bread. But, unfortunately, illegal traders are not pitiful to the regional center at all.
This can be easily seen when walking up the sidewalk, where people actively buy and sell during the day. Carton boxes, bottles, mountains of garbage ‘decorate’ streets near the market ‘Bilochka’ or ‘Pianyi’ market. Very few sellers have a conscience to clean all the junk that collects around them during the whole ‘bazaar’ day. Utilities service is not in hurry to clean all the rubbish either.
