Close to the border with Slovakia, over the river of Sola stretched a little capital of the Polish brewery – the city of Zhywets (Polish Żywiec). It is possible to get there by taking public transport or by car and overcome three a half hundreds of kilometers of Slovakia by passing medieval castles and rocky Tatra.
Of course, it is worth to start acquaintance with Zhywets from the city center, which is compactly located on Market Square. Local merchants sell souvenirs with symbols of the city in the frame of historical buildings. Along the perimeter are small cozy cafes.
The Cathedral of Virgin Nativity (XV century) together with the Catholic Church are located there. The majority of the city is consists of parks with flowers and fountains. There is also located the Museum of Zhyvets Miniatures. Along with the entrance to the park is the palace.
Ertskhertska brewery is one of the most famous manufacturers of Polish beer brands Żywiec. Created in 1856 on the initiative of Austria Prince Albert Frederick, now the brewery became a tourist destination: there was opened beer museum, tours are guided and wine degustation will be held there.
