Meeting was made from an extraordinary session of Vynogradiv District Council

That is today, July 9, was convened an extraordinary session of the District Council on which deputies were supposed to consider an appeal to the President of Ukraine on the Verkhovna Rada’s adopted of the law ‘On principles of Language Policy’.

The printout facts ‘How struggled with Ukrainian; Chronicle of bans for 400 years’ – from 1622 to 2012 were given to present in the hall at the beginning. Interesting was a year 1984: salary payments increased by 15% for teachers of Russian language in comparison with the Ukrainian teachers’ salaries in the USSR.

In general meeting hall was half empty – from 64 members of the district council the meeting was attended by 29, three, as said the head the District Council, on their way. The places reserved for the representatives of the Party of Regions, by the end of the session remained empty. Therefore instead of a legitimate session, it was announced as the meeting of Vynohradiv District Council deputies.

The district council chairman Oleh Lyubimov, the deputy district council Olexandr Groshev, the head of public and political organizations Volodymyr Mocharnyk, Victor Ursta and Mykhailo Lisitzki spoke at the meeting. They read the text of the appeal and signed it.

By the way, such an appeal was adopted by Rakhiv district council among Transcarpathian districts.
