Lytvyn remains speaker

Verkhovna Rada refused to include the consideration of Speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn’s application on his resignation in the agenda of the meeting on Friday.

None of the deputies did support the inclusion in the agenda of this issue.

First Vice Speaker Adam Martyniuk congratulated Lytvyn with ‘vote of confidence’.

Before the vote, the head of the Parliamentary Party of Regions fraction Oleksandr Yefremov promised that Party of Regions will not vote on consideration of the Lytvyn’s application on his release.

We remind that on July 4, Lytvyn asked parliament to consider an application on his resignation.

The Council adopted the bill ‘On the basis of the state language policy’, prepared by the deputies of the Party of Regions Vadym Kolesnichenko and Serhii Kivalov on July 3.
