The representatives of the opposition forces pitched the tents in front of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration in the morning today, July 4. More than a hundred people, mostly young people, gathered together at the ‘language’ protest.

‘The language issue does not arise in the multi-national Transcarpathia. But now they are trying to impose it to all of us – said the head of Uzhgorod regional party organization ‘UDAR Vitaliy Klychko’ Rostislav Bulanov. – We call upon all concerned citizens of Transcarpathia to join to the language protest. It’s time to save the Ukrainian language and Ukrainian state’.

The protesters expressed their position on yesterday’s vote in the parliament and Law on Languages adoption by deputies of the Verkhovna Rada. ‘To assent the action of such a law means to commit a crime in front of the country and its citizens- said leader of the party ‘Svoboda’ in Transcarpathia Oleh Kutsyn. – There is no sense to negotiate with this government. We need radical measures and change’.

The protesters urged deputies of all the councils to gather the extraordinary sessions and appeal to the President.
