Fellow dwellers and Transcarpathian writers gathered on the 80th anniversary of Vasyl Basarab – writer, publisher and former newspaper ‘Novyny Zakarpattia’ editor – once more remembered the artist through the prism of his works.
The Transcarpathian Regional University Library Reference Hall was filled with writers, literary critics, friend and Vasyl Basarab work admirers. Everyone had an opportunity to hear the story of his life, words of gratitude and respect, which were spoken with pleasure by his friends.
Even those who did not know Basarab during his life, could easily understand what kind of person he was – at first sight… because some of those who were familiar with Vasyl Basaraba (poetess Khrystyna Keryta) said that he was a person-mystery. Because in the literature, entered with small prose, then worked in the story and ‘burst’ with poetry towards the end of his life. Khrystyna Keryta feels sorry that the artist died, because the world did not get to know about all his talents. And there were a lot of them…
