56.6% of Transcarpathian school leavers to participate in independent testing

On May 15 EIT (external independent testing) started in Ukraine. In Transcarpathia 7236 young people expressed the desire to prove their knowledge – school leavers of this and previous years. As the chief of the regional Department of Education and Science Mikhail Motilchak said there will be testing in 10 subjects. Most applications have been received for testing in the Ukrainian language, the least – in Russian (only 75 people, which is even less than those who wanted to take the French test).

Out of the 7236 EIT participants 5763 are high school leavers. If we consider that in 2012 10,179 boys and girls left school in Transcarpathia it turns out that 56.6% of school leavers have chosen to take an external independent testing (last year it was less than 54%).

1089 former pupils registered for the first test in chemistry which was held on May 15, 996 of them expressed a desire to take the tests in Ukrainian, 81 – in Hungarian, 8 – in Russian and 4 – in Romanian. The next test, in the Russian language, will be held in Uzhgorod on May 17, then two days later 2470 participants will take EIT in geography. The testing should finish in June 7 – on the eve of Euro 2012.
