The railway station reconstruction ‘is frozen’ in Khust (PHOTOS)

The railway station in Khust is hardly miserable existence: the walls of the building are worn, the floor is almost destroyed, the roof is rotten, windows are old, birds built their nests over the doors at the entrance to the station.

Nothing was repaired during all the years of Independence. And its ‘colleague’, the bus station, which is quite near by the railway station, is looks like a luxurious mansion.

The Secretary of Khust City Council Vladimir Erfan said that ‘Ukrzaliznytsia’ pledged to repair the railway station last year. They developed some projects but ‘UZ’ did not allocate money for its reconstruction. Thus, the station reconstruction issue as if hung in the air, though the head of the developed program assured Khust City Council that money is about to arrive. ‘The situation is controversial, because the railway station is the property of ‘Ukrzaliznytsia’. We are trying to influence them, we sent them letters and petitions. The storm will continue.’ – informs Vladimir Erfan.
