Traditionally, on the Day of the Environment (April 21) in Transcarpathia trees are planted. And today, April 10, 2000 silver fir saplings grown in the nursery of Kamyanitskiy forest, were planted in the tract ‘Syroi Potok’. In general, it is planned to plant over 300,000 trees.
In Uzhgorod district the trees were planted by Alexandr Ledyda director, his deputy, Vladimir Prikhodko, chief forester Igor Fizyk, the chairman of the Uzhgorod State Administration Ruslan Chornak, Bishop of Mukachevo Greek Catholic diocese Milan Shashik, representatives of the Hungarian and Slovak consulates, foresters, students of Kamyanytsa school forestry, – the press center of State Administration informs.
– The main purpose is to show an example for the countrymen. Every year students, doctors, teachers, officials take part in this event. We are all patriots of our land, so we have to preserve the beauty – said the head of the region Alexandr Ledyda.
Then the participants continued to the ceremonial part. For significant contribution to the development of forestry RSA timber industry veteran Leonid Gryshchenko was awarded with a diploma. Also a veteran of the forest industry Ivan Nikulinets was awarded with a badge of the Transcarpathian Regional Council and the regional administration ‘For the development of the region’.
