In Uzhgorod district, patrolmen detained a suspicious driver

The driver was behaving suspiciously and tried to leave the scene.

According to the communication department of the Transcarpathian regional police, the police are investigating the incident that took place on June 11 in Transcarpathia. The Main Office of the National Police initiated an internal investigation following the complaint of a 47-year-old Uzhgorod citizen. At the same time, the actions of the applicant himself are being checked in the proceeding under Article 342 of the Criminal Code, that is, resistance to a police officer.

"On June 11, at about 01:00 am, in the village of Chaslivtsi, Uzhgorod district, the police stopped for violation of traffic safety rules (unbuckled seat belt) a car Volvo driven by s 47-year-old resident of Uzhgorod," – the report says.

As a result of the examination, it was found out that the documents for the car, presented by the driver, had signs of forgery. The man was informed that the investigation team had been called at the scene. He reacted suspiciously to this information: he got out of the car, locked it and tried to leave the scene. When the policemen told him to stay until the arrival of the investigative team, the driver reacted aggressively and resorted to physical resistance. Because of that, law enforcement officers were forced to use handcuffs.

The investigative team arrived at the scene and documented the incident. Two criminal proceedings have been initiated over the incident – under Art. 342 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (resistance to a police officer), as well as under Art. 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (forgery of documents).

The car was taken to the police impound lot.
