On September 30, in the hall of Regional Art Museum,there was the concert to mark the 90th anniversary of Mykhailo Krechko – famous Ukrainian composer, conductor, singer, teacher, cultural and public figure.
The almost two-hour-long concert of the choir "Cantus" presented the audience selected original works and Mykhailo Krechko’s iterpretations of spiritual, classical and folk songs.
As noted by the artistic director and conductor Emil Sokach, this concert became a kind of musical portrait of Mykhailo Krechko – a multifaceted creative personality.
The event was also attented by the artist’s daughter Natalia Krechko who is also a choirmaster, singer, Honored Artist of Ukraine. The guest was quite moved by the concert in memory of her father.
Finally, the head of the department of culture of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Yuriy Hleba said that this concert was not going to be the only event to mark the 90th anniversary of Mykhailo Krechko: soon .a memorial plaque will be installed in his native village of Poroshkovo (Perechyn district), the opening of which hopefully will also bring together members of the artist’s family and leading choirs of the region.
