Festivals in honor of the new wine are taking place all over Europe and in Transcarpathia, in particular.
In mid-November, wine-making regions celebrate the moment when the first wine from this year’s harvest becomes ripe and, while still remaining young and sometimes incomplete, allows you to try it and to thank the land for the harvest and laborious hands for the work.
And there is a reason to celebrate, the leading winery of the region says. The Chateau Chizay report this harvest was probably the best in the history of the company. On this occasion, this Saturday, November 17, they invite to the holiday of young wine to Beregovo.
Young wine is the first result of the work of winegrowers and winemakers, and therefore the opening of a barrel with new wine is not just a beautiful tradition, but indeed a holiday.
According to Oleksandr Meresiy, sommelier and sales director of the winery Chateau Chizay, young wine is definitely worthy of attention. "Young wine is very fragnant, very intensive, its flavors are very fresh and specific. Over time, the aroma and taste will change, become more "rounded", "mature", and now the wine is like a teenager, it is bright as youth itself. Later, the wine will become different, but will never be the same as it is now. And we invite you to taste the young wine to share the joy of this season. The 2018 harvest was probably the best in the history of Chateau Chizay, we are expecting very interesting and even outstanding wines. And, in addition to traditionally high-quality white varieties, this season was also extremely good for the red ones, we are eager to taste these mature wines to see what they have in store. But I already know that they have something good," – Mr. Oleksander says.
The company will present, in particular, young wines from the varieties Pinot Blanc and Chersegi.
Also during the Festival of the Young Wine, there will be the first in Transcarpathia presentation of Oleg Skrypka’s trademark wine "Krayina Mriy". The well-known musician chose not only a vineyard, but also grape bunches for his wine.
