Yevhen Polozhii will present “Ilovaysk” in the Transcarpathian Regional Library (Announcement)

On Wednesday, April 20, at 16:30, in the Transcarpathian Regional Universal Library, there will be a meeting with writer, journalist, public figure, editor in chief of the Sumy newspaper "Panorama" Yevhen Polozhiy. The guest will present the prose book №1 of 2015 in Ukraine "Ilovaysk." The moderator is Mykhailo Roshko.

The novel is a story about the war without cuts and sentiments about the tragic events near Ilovaysk on August 10 – September 3, 2014, which went down in history as "Ilovaysk mousetrap." The text is based on a true story – about 100 eyewitnesses of the events – fighters of volunteer battalions "Donbas", "Dnipro-1", "Kherson", "Peacemaker", 39th ( "Dnipro-2"), 40th ("Kryvbas") 42nd battalion of territorial defense, soldiers and officers of the 17th tank brigade, 51st, 92nd, 93rd brigade of Armed Forces of Ukraine, border guards of Sumy mobile unit told the author their stories. Some of those stories were included in the book.

"Ilovaysk" is a book about courage, incredible heroism and humanity of Ukrainian soldiers and officers, fighters of volunteer battalions, all those who were in "Ilovaysk mousetrap" in the end of August 2014 which was the biggest defeat of Ukrainian Army during the war in the East. It is an honest book about the war. The author heard stories from about one hundred participants of Ilovaysk tragedy, the book is based on real events. However, please consider all coincidences with real names and call signs accidental" – the annotation to the book reads.
