On May 31, bomb squad of the special rescue unit were carrying out routine work for demining of the area near the village of Tarnivtsi in Uzhgorod district.
During the inspection of the area, bomb experts found 26 pieces of explosive ordnance. Among them, there was one artillery shell of 100 mm caliber, one artillery shell of 76 mm caliber, 12 artillery shells of 40 mm caliber, three grenades F-1, a mortar shell and eight explosives of World War II period.
All the dangerous items on the same day were transported to a designated place and disposed of by blasting.
