During August 28, bomb squad removed and destroyed 30 explosive items of the Second World War period.
Thua, at 8:15, the bomb squad went to Botanichna embankment in Uzhgorod, where the day before a passerby had found a metal object looking like ammunition. It turned out to be a 50 mm mortar shell. The explosive object was removed, transported to a specially designated place and properly destroyed by explosion.
The same day, the rescuers went to the village of Yasinya in Rakhiv district. During the joint operation with the Security Service of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region, they took measures to remove and destroy 29 explosive objects.
Those included: 3 mortar shells of 82 mm caliber, 6 mortar shells of 50 mm caliber, and 20 hand grenades F-1 from the Second World War.
