While in Ukraine saving the world’s energy is being only discussed, in other countries they have been actively working on it for a long time now. In the suburbs of Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, a huge garbage incinerator was launched in 1997. Its capacity is 250 garbage trucks per day. Generally, 80 percent of all household rubbish from the capital and its environs is processed and converted to heat. And these are the waste products of more than 2 million people. On the other hand, in Transcarpathia they do not want even to hear about the construction of such plants. (It is better to leave everything in rivers).
Another highlight of the Czech Republic in spring is its fields. Along the highway, green fields and yellow ones appear in turns. The Czechs grow canola. The plant is interesting and, as it turned out, useful not only in agriculture. It is used for production of biodiesel – an alternative fuel for vehicles. Obviously, the Czech Republic makes a big bet on this business.
Windmills and solar panels plantations are the things which strike every traveler’s eye on the roads of the Czech Republic. Priorities of the Czech government in environmental policy are the fight against environmental pollution and energy conservation. Czech specialists are actively sharing their experience with the Ukrainians. It is known that one of the firms sets the solar panels in the Crimea. And there are a lot of them on the fields of the Czech Republic. That’s how small farmers are saving their money and power.
In Transcarpathia, we dream of environmentally-friendly energy too. But the experience of its implementation is so insignificant that it is ridiculous to talk about the results.
