Yarmolenko, Konoplyanka and Rotan are just like Bale, Ramsey and Allen – Grozny

The head coach of "Goverla" Vyacheslav Grozny shared his thoughts on the performance of Ukraine’s national team at Euro 2016.

"Could our team have played better? Must have not just could have. The result is negative, and that comes from the fact that we have another tournament of unfulfilled expectations. I don’t understand why we forgot that football in this country is declining and are still living in that time, when the top 4 clubs were competing for the championship, and another 6 teams were competing for places in the "Europa League zone." Unfortunately, that championship no longer exists. 

Let’s see how Italy plays. Before the tournament, they were saying about it: there’s no one to play there – only Buffon and three centerbacks. But, sorry, those are four aces, and here they are all on the table.

The same, by the way, can be said of Wales, where three players of "Real", "Liverpool" and "Arsenal" make all the game. I will say this: Yarmolenko, Konoplyanka and Rotan are just like Bale, Ramsey and Allen. But the trouble is that all our opponents have studied carefully the game features of our wingers. Here is, by the way, a trend – a serious creative work of coaches! And if our wingers had shifted to the central area, it would have been unexpected and uncomfortable. Our opponents would not have been ready for it," – Grozny said.
