A unique project was presented by a Transcarpathian photographer – he captured the oldest people of his district in pictures.
On November 24, the photographer from the village of Plavie in Svalyava district Mykola Potsko turned 60. He celebrated his anniversary on November 25 in the district house of culture in Svalyava with the exhibition of his own works and the collection of vintage cameras.
There were many visitors at the event, because he is well known not only in the region but also abroad (he was winner of international photo contests). The exhibition was attended by his colleagues – photographers from Uzhgorod, Mukachevo, Irshava, as well as priests, friends and relatives.
The highlight of the exhibition was the gallery of Svalyava district old-timers. Mykola Potsko visited 112 oldest residents of the district. The master photohraphed not all of them, but just over 90 old men and women. Some did not want to be photographed. But others would pose gladly. There are many different pictures – with pets, at the stove, with a pipe, with a breviary, at work. But it must be seen. You can never forget those eyes. Unfortunately, three of those old people are now deceased.
