Winter is coming: forecasters are predicting snow

Forecasters predict heavy sleet and snow in the mountainous part of Transcarpathian region at night on November 30. In the eastern and central mountainous districts, slush build-up and ice accumulation. On some sections of mountain roads, there will be ice.
In most of the region, there will be fogs with a visibility of 200-500 m (I, yellow level of danger).
With this in mind, Transcarpathian rescuers ask fans of mountain hiking to refrain from hiking, because in such conditions even experienced tourists can easily stray off the course. Remember that safety in the mountains depends on training, discipline, compliance with basic safety rules, knowledge of the terrain and its natural obstacles, appropriately selected clothing and shoes.
Drivers should also take note of the weather deterioration, because icing on the road surface increases the braking distance, so you must maintain a safe speed, take into account the traffic, as well as the features and condition of the vehicle. According to the SES of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region, special attention should be paid to overpasses and bridges, as those are the spots where icing formation is most likely to occur.
