Recall that the award established by the Uzhgorod City Council is a creative award in three nominations: fiction, local lore literature, and album edition.

The works nominated for the award this year were considered by a jury consisting of Olga Vasylyndra, the Head of the Department for Culture, Youth and Sports; Halyna Shumytska, the dean of the philological faculty of Uzhgorod National University, candidate of philological sciences; Mykhailo Roshko, Associate Professor, the dean of the faculty of foreign philology of Uzhgorod National University, Candidate of Philological Sciences; Olena Kanyuka, the Director of the Transcarpathian Regional Universal Scientific Library named after Fedir Potushnyak; Oleksandra Ihnatovych, Associate Professor of the department of Ukrainian literature of Uzhgorod National University, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Deputy Chairman of the Transcarpathian Organization of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine, literary critic.

As we have already reported, during the discussion, the members of the commission suggested to award the books of two authors – Vasyl Husti and Ivan Rebryk, as there were no submissions in other nominations.

The commission also recommended to amend the Regulations on the Petro Skunts City Prize in Literature and Local Lore with the item: "In the absence of submissions in one of the three nominations, the commission has the right to recommend awarding the prize to other candidates in one nomination."

The decision to award the Petro Skunts Literary Prize is to be considered at a meeting of the Uzhgorod City Council, the press service of the City Council informs.
