Wings for Uzhgorod: has the process started?

As we reported, on May 3, 2018, in Bratislava, the Slovak Republic, there were negotiations on the Agreement on Transfer of Responsibility for Air Traffic Services and on the Operation of Uzhgorod International Airport. This was reported by the site of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine.

The meeting was attended on the Ukrainian part by the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure for European Integration Victor Dovhan, the head of the State Aviation Service Oleksandr Bilchuk, representatives of the UkSATSE; on the Slovakian part – by the head of the Civil Aviation Service Mario Nemet, representatives of the Ministry of Transport and the Air Navigation Agency of the Slovak Republic.

Victor Dovhan stressed that it is necessary to finalize the text of the Agreement between Ukraine and the Slovak Republic and to pay for the certification by the European Aviation Safety Agency EASA within a month. The conclusion of the agreement with the Slovak party and the completion of the certification process by the end of 2018 is an international legal prerequisite for carrying out flights to / from Uzhgorod Airport.

An official meeting with the State Secretary for Investments of the Ministry of Finance of the Slovak Republic Dana Miger was also held. The parties discussed investment projects of multimodal complexes on the border with Ukraine and the concession of the international airport Uzhgorod.
