As you know, the final of the Eurovision qualifying round took place in Kyiv in the concert hall of the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
According to the decision of the jury, MARUV received the highest score – 5 points.
And the audience gave her 6 points and a ticket to Tel-Aviv, where she will perform "Siren Song".
However, according to the galas.te.ua, "Public Broadcasting Company, which selects a representative of Ukraine for the Eurovision Song Contest, despite the singer MARUV’s victory in the national selection, has not yet made a final decision." This was announced by a member of the board of the National Public Broadcasting Company Oleksandra Koltsova in a comment to the Hromadske.
According to her, the NPBCU will make the decision within 48 hours. And MARUV has to answer questions about the contract within 24 hours.
"Now we have to approve the winner who will represent Ukraine. And we, as the Public Broadcasting Company, listen to the public. Now, there are different opinions among the public on whether the performer, who plays concerts in Russia, can represent Ukraine. There is a clause in our agreement that we need to discuss with MARUV", – Koltsova said.
When asked if MARUV is required to stop playing concerts in Russia, Koltsova replied: "We have a clause that requires certain decisions – they have to accept it."
For now, listen to the hit by MARUV:
