What Easter is going tobe like during the quarantine: the Ministry of Internal Affairs and church officials have agreed on the format of the holiday

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and religious organizations have determined the format of religious holidays, in particular Easter, during the quarantine.

This was reported by the Ukrainska Pravda. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, no more than 10 people will be allowed to be in temples, but there will be an online broadcast available for everyone. The following persons will be allowed to be in the places of worship at the same time: priest, minister, clerk, and technicians who provide the services and ensure online broadcast. Wearing of protective masks or respirators is mandatory for everyone, except the clergyman. As the adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs Yuriy Tandit said to the Interfax-Ukraine, representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations reached this agreement during an online meeting on the format of worship services during the holidays. He said that it concerned Christian Easter, Judean Passover, and the Muslim beginning of the month of Ramadan. Tandit said that parishioners would be able to attend temples individually by one or two when there is no worship. All present persons will be obliged to wear masks, and there should be no queue outside. According to the adviser to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, there will be several opportunities for performing the rite of consecration of Easter cakes and baskets. In the cities, clergymen will be invited to bakeries, factories or shops where they will consecrate the Easter cakes and anyone will be able to buy them already consecrated. In the countryside, believers will be able to put Easter baskets at the gates, and a priest will be able to walk down the streets and consecrate them. Tandit said that in case believers try to attend churches, police patrols will "gently explain the necessity to comply with these rules." Also, he said, it was agreed that representatives of all religious organizations would submit lists of people involved in worship to ensure their free movement.
