Volodymyr Chubirko will initiate the creation of a racetrack in Uzhgorod – bike laps along embankments

"A bike is not only "night rides", but also a comfortable means of transport for citizens!", – the Chairman of the Transcarpathian Regional Council and a candidate for the mayor of Uzhgorod Volodymyr Chubirko believes.

He wrote on his facebook: "Recently I signed the bicycle declaration proposed by civic activists. There are very relevant ideas on the development of cycling infrastructure in it. I will be sure to implement them."
 

Chubirko adds: "The other day I was suggested a cool idea that I liked very much and immediately grabbed for it: the creation of a city racetrack! It will be on the banks of the Uzh river, that basically form about 7-kilometer-long bicycle track from the vehicle bridge on Ankudinov street to the suspended bridge in the Bozdosh park.

Indeed, a cool idea, which, though, requires to be thoroughly studied with the assistance of experts. Engineering solutions, as well as the flood control measures, security and environment issues should be considered. However, in any case, I will work on this."
