Visegrad countries approve the provision of large financial assistance to Ukraine.
The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Visegrad Four stated that at the meeting of representatives of seven Eastern European countries in Budapest, the "UNIAN" writes.
Visegrad countries also proposed a plan to assist Ukraine in the energy sector. It was about the supply of gas extracted by the EU countries.
Also at the meeting, they called for liberalization of visa regime for citizens of Ukraine.
As reported, March 31, the European Commission decided to allocate Ukraine the last tranche of 250 million euros within the first program of macro-financial assistance (610 million euros).
According to the EC, Ukraine received 1.360 billion euros of macro-financial assistance in 2014.
In 2014, the EU funding under the ENP was 365 million euros, the largest amount ever allocated to Ukraine.
Ukraine in 2014 also received humanitarian assistance amounting to 139 million euros and 2 million euros under the thematic programs of civil society and local authorities development.
On March 31, the European Council adopted the decision that approved granting of 1.8 billion euros of macro-financial assistance to Ukraine.
