Villages without power, fallen trees and flooded houses – aftermath of bad weather in Transcarpathia (PHOTOS)

As of 13.00, four villages in the Irshava district remain without power due to bad weather.

This was reported by Natalia Batyr, the spokeswoman for the State Emergencies Service of Transcarpathia. According to her, those are Krainya Martynka, Smolohovytsia, Pidhirne and Sobityno. The villages of Brid, Chorny Potik and the town of Irshava are partially without power supply. Repair crews of district power supply companies are working at the site.

Batyr also said that yesterday three trees had fallen in Transcarpathia due to strong wind gusts.

“In the village of Zahorb of Velyky Berezny district, a tree fell on an agricultural structure. Fortunately, no one was in there. Nobody was injured by the fallen trees. In the other two cases, in the town of Svalyava and the village of Kiblyary of Uzhgorod district, trees fell on the roads. No vehicles were damaged,” – Natalia Batyr said.

In addition, rescuers helped to pump water from the basements of two houses – in the village of Strypa, Uzhgorod district, and in the town of Irshava.

Due to heavy snow on the passes of Volovetsky and Rakhiv districts, rescuers helped to tow 7 vehicles.

Today snowfall is forecast throughout the day in the mountainous districts – Rakhiv, Tyachiv and Mizhhirya. This was reported by weather forecaster Vasyl Manivchuk. According to him, in other districts of the region, storm wind is expected.
