Vehicular traffic through all passes on the administrative border of Transcarpathia is free

As of Friday, 9.00 (2.12), vehicular traffic on all four passes on the administrative boder of Transcarpathia is free. During the night, road service workers and rescuers cleared the roadways using special equipment. The most difficult situation is on the Yablunytsya pass, where up to 30 centimeters of snow fell during the night. Now the way is free, but the traffic of heavy vehicles is limited at the request of our neighbors. Traffic is expected to be resumed completely within the next few hours.

Last night, because of intense precipitation and snow buildup, on the outskirts of Uzhgorod, the bypass road leading to the transport terminal of the checkpoint "Uzhgorod – Vysne Nemecke" on the Ukrainian-Slovak border was blocked. To clear the road, snowplows and rescuers’ ATVs were engaged. During the night, rescuers towed to the cargo terminal about 50 trucks, as of the morning, the roadway to the checkpoint is free.

In the mountainous areas of Transcarpathia, snowfall in the morning intensified, therefore vehicular traffic on some roads of local level is hampered. After cleaning the main traffic arteries, special vehicles will start cleaning local roads.
