Vacationers saved a child from drowning

Last weekend, namely on July 29, the tragic statistics on drowning could have increased, were it not for the alertness and skillful actions of ordinary vacationers.

The events unfolded in the Popovy laz tract in Beregovo district. A 12-year-old girl and her mother were resting on the Borzhava river near the village of Verkhni Remety. Since the child does not know how to swim, she was staying in shallow waters, and her mother was watching her from the shore. Suddenly, current began to carry the girl to the middle of the river, where she began to drown. The mother rushed to help, but the woman also does not know how to swim so she could not do anything. Fortunately for the family, there were other vacationers about two hundred meters away.

They immediately rushed to help. Oleksandr Turani, who works at the State Enterprise "Beregovo State Forestry", was the first to plunge into the water. A private entrepreneur Mykhailo Margitych hurried to help him. Oleksandr passed the girl to Mykhailo, and began helping the mother, who was helplessly waggling in the water and calling for help.

When the child was taken to the shore, she no longer presented any signs of life. Then, other people started resuscitating the child. Thus, Victoria Babich, who works as a senior nurse at the regional psychiatric hospital, immediately began to do heart massage, and Mykhailo Butko (State Enterprise "Beregovo State Forestry") – artificial respiration… In a moment, the girl regained consciousness.

The family of the saved girl are infinitely grateful to all who came to help and saved the child’s life.
