The creative project, whose partners are the Department of Culture, Youth and Sports of the Uzhgorod City Council and the NGO "Transcarpathian Film Commission", is aimed at involving schoolchildren in the creation of short promotional films about Uzhgorod and its history. The project coordinator, the chairman of the Transcarpathian Film Commission Oleksandr Meryavchyk and the coordinator of the competition Vyacheslav Yegorov told today more about the “Destination Uzhgorod” and the stages of implementation to the teachers-organizers, who will later inform the students of the city schools.

According to the organizers, the acceptance of the competition works will end on October 15, and on November 2 they plan to announce the names of the winners. The next stage is master classes for the winners of the competition, and then – a study tour in Ukraine and Poland. Another prize is participation in international film conferences in Krosno and Uzhgorod.

Olga Vasylyndra, the Head of the Department for Culture, Youth and Sports of the Uzhgorod City Council, expressed hope that the project would be interesting for students of Uzhgorod secondary schools, and that they would be able to take advantage of this opportunity to make use of their creative potential by trying their hand at film production (directing, animation, script writing, working with video editing software). The best works will be the basis for a promotional film about Uzhgorod.
