It has already become a good tradition to hold an Open Door Day in the landmark architectural and historical monument of Transcarpathia, the residence of bishops of the Mukachevo Greek Catholic Diocese on A. Bachinsky square in Uzhgorod.

Since the end of the eighteenth century, Greek Catholic bishops have been living and working here, now it is the office of the Mukachevo Greek Catholic diocese. The Open Door Day was held on the Day of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. In the morning, the Bishops’ Divine Liturgy took place in the cathedral.

There were a lot of visitors at the tour. Even with families. Everyone was able to see not only the place where current bishops Milan and Nil work and live, but also the bishop chapel painted by Yosyp Bokshay, the consistorial hall for celebrations with baroque paintings, the collection paintings presented to the diocese, the gallery-corridor with historical photographs, the crypt, where the bishops are buried.
