Uzhgorod residents were listening to “A story worth apple orchard” (PHOTOS)

"A story worth an entire apple orchard" – the presentation of the book under this title took place in Uzhgorod. The author is Maxim Dupeshko. Along with writing, Maxim works in tourism. So, it was not his first visit to the regional center of Transcarpathia.

He remembered Uzhgorod as exotic and beautiful city of high culture, so, when choosing locations for the presentation of the debut book, he did not hesitate to include Uzhgorod to the tour list.   

– What we have now in the Eastern Ukraine is what has not finished since the days of World War II. My novel is a look at that war from the distance of time. It is a historical drama, but drama plays more important role than history, – the author of the book said. – The novel is not about history. The history is just a background. What is important in the book is people. We should live so that human values ​​were above all!, – Maxim Dupeshko said in Uzhgorod.

The events in the novel are set Chernivtsi. The city, by the way, is one of the characters. The period described in the book is 1935-1992. Maxim says that he wrote the book quite quickly. As for the title, it emerged after the had been novel.

In the preface we read: "This novel is the story of a(n) (un)usual man who said of himself: "Ich bin ein Czernowitzer". But some people may see in this book the history of the city with the stolen soul, that was a part of half a dozen states during the twentieth century. Anyone, who looks for great things in small things, will find here recent history of entire Europe. Others – their personal story set in the past. Although at first glance, it’s one of the millions of love stories, which, according to the author, is worth an entire apple orchard."

At the presentation, in the reading room of the Transcarpathian Regional Library, Maxim Dupeshko read exerpts from his books to Uzhgorod residents.

As for the plans, he is already working on a new novel.
