Uzhgorod ranked 17th in the rating of “the best cities to live in” from the “Focus”

The rating created by the publication "Focus" is headed by Vinnytsya, which has the largest mean score, and Lviv closes the top five.

Vinnytsya led the ranking of the best cities in Ukraine to live in. It is followed by Kyiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi and Lviv. Odesa closes the top ten.

The living standards of Ukrainians were evaluated in 15 criteria. These include population, population dynamics, crime rate, budget, income, unemployment, education, business activity, infrastructure, culture, public utilities, real estate, health care, environment and tourist attraction.

Vinnytsya headed the rating by the sum of the indicators. Interestingly, the city can not boast of leadership by any individual criterion, but in total it is Vinnytsya that has the most points. The capital is the leader in terms of budget, the number of higher education institutions, tourist attraction and population. However, the capital has rather high crime rate and low housing affordability. The third place is occupied by Ivano-Frankivsk, which is the city with the lowest crime rate. The fourth place went to Chernivtsi, the city with the best infrastructure. The fifth – to Lviv, which together with Kyiv received the most points for its tourist appeal. The sixth place went to Kharkiv. The city may be called the business capital of Ukraine because it is leading by this indicator. Donetsk is on the seventh place. The city scored high marks in all categories, but is not leading in any of them.

Sevastopol is on the eighth place due to rather low crime rate, unemployment, low cost of utilities and a good budget. Khmelnytsky and Odesa are on the ninth and the tenth places. Both cities have low unemployment, and low cost of utilities.

Previously, Uzhgorod was voted 10th in the ranking of the most comfortable cities in Ukraine.
