Uzhgorod police found a car that had been stolen abroad

Law enforcers are establishing how a resident of Storoznhytsia got a foreign car, which was listed as stolen in the Czech Republic.

Yesterday, May 30, in the course of preventive measures, officers of the Transcarpathian regional police found in a parking lot near the shopping center a car that was wanted. The BMW X5 was listed as wanted in the Czech Republic.  

Having found the vehicle, Uzhgorod law enforcement officers reported about it to the regional management and to the Interpol. The driver was identified. He was a 33-year-old resident of Storozhnytsia, Uzhgorod district.

Investigator of the Uzhgorod police department registered the incident in the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations. The crime was documented as a violation of Article 198 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, that is, purchase or sale of property knowingly acquired by criminal means.

The investigation is underway, meanwhile the car was taken to the impound lot of Uzhgorod police department.
