Uzhgorod Music School is 75 years old!

Uzhgorod Children’s Music School №1 named after PI Tchaikovsky began celebrating its 75th anniversary with a festive concert that took place last night. It is symbolic that this anniversary concert season traditionally began on the International Music Day, October 1.
As we have already reported, on March 20, 1945, the first public music school in Transcarpathia was opened in Uzhgorod and later became one of the leading elementary art education institutions.
The Mayor of Uzhgorod Bohdan Andriyiv also congratulated the staff of the music school.   
According to the Uzhgorod City Council, yesterday’s festive concert was attended by a famous musician, an alum of the school, composer and pianist, professor of music at the University of Colima (Mexico) Anatoly Zatin as well as Vlada Vasilyeva as the piano Duo Petrof.
The director of Uzhgorod Children’s Music School №1 named after PI Tchaikovsky Olena Okhrim noted that on the occasion of the anniversary, festive events and creative meetings under the title "Historical Concerts" would be taking place throughout the year.
