During the period from April to May 19, about 600 people turned to the State Register of Voters Office in Uzhgorod City Council with a request to temporarily change their polling place (voting place). On the last day, Uzhgorod office worked until 24:00.
This was reported to a representative of the OPORA by the head of the Office Hryhoriy Zhirkov. Among those voters, there are Uzhgorod residents who will vote outside the city, as well as residents of other regions who will vote in the regional center of Transcarpathia.
Also, according to Mr. Zhirkov, 573 people applied to the Office within the last 3 days of the prescribed period.
According to Part 3 of Article 7 of the Law of Ukraine "On the State Register of Voters", voters can change the voting place (with documentary evidence of the reason) not later than 5 days before the election, that is – until April 19 inclusively.
The first one to temporarily change her polling station in Uzhgorod, on April 7, was the translator of OSCE observers.
In the last three days (from 17 to 19 of May), Hryhoriy Zhirkov informed, due to the large influx of voters, the Registry System was overloaded – the correction of data, which usually takes little time, could take 40 minutes.
Starting from May 20, voters can no longer change the temporary place of voting.
