Uzhgorod is fighting the cow parsnip

Over one hectare of the poisonous plant was eliminated today on the embankment near the suspension bridge, the same amount will be mowed tomorrow. The cow parsnip here stretches over 2.38 ha and did not allow residents to walk and rest safely.

The cow parsnip was mowed using special equipment under the order of the Municipal Economy Department.

By the end of this week, on the order of the Acting Mayor Victor Shchadey, the utility workers will continue to mow the cow parsnip within Nezalezhnist, Pravoslavna, Kyivska, Botanichna embankments. On part of Pravoslavna embankment and in front of the stadium "Spartak", the poisonous plant has already been mowed.

"The main problem is that 2 hectares near the "PADIYUN" were not included to the plots, which had to be mowed, as the former Mayor had planned to grant that land allegedly for a golf course. Therefore, the field was "no man’s land" and only now we found a way to resolve this issue," – the Acting Mayor Victor Shchadey said.
